Summary
Paula Andreu, is an International Journalist and Conflict Photographer with extensive field experience since 2018 in Hostile Environments around the globe.
Over the past five years, she has focused on gender-sensitive conflict documentation in contexts such as the India–Pakistan border, narcotrafficking in Colombia, Kurdish cultural conflicts in Iraq, Iran, and Turkey, and tribal violence in Ethiopia and South Sudan.
Her research seeks to critically examine the intersection of conflict, gender, and media representation, contributing to broader discussions on humanitarian intervention, visual evidence, and ethical reporting in conflict zones.
Academic Records
She hold a Bachelor's Degree in Visual Arts from URJC and UOC Universities (2019-23) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Photojournalism from UAB (2024).
After specializing with different certifications in conflict areas (HEAT training, War Reporterism Course), she is currently completing a
MBA in International Journalism (2024-26) at Tech University, a joint program based in the USA and Mexico.

Work Experience
Since 2018, she has developed a professional background in international humanitarian work, which ended up documenting through journalism and photography, specializing in conflict areas around the globe.
As a HEAT certified and freelance photojournalist in conflict areas, her work combines field-based visual investigation with systematic research on human rights, gender, and international cooperation.

Awards
In 2024, she was awarded a photographic editing fellowship at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMa) in New York City.
Her documentary project on sexual abuse in the Colombian narcotrafficking conflict was shortlisted at the Visa pour l'Image International Photojournalism Festival (2025) in Perpignan, France. And also chosen with a Photojournalist of Aragon Award.
She also received the Mirilla Aragon Photojournalism Fellowship(2025-26), which provided an annual mentorship with Ana Palacios, supporting the development of rigorous investigative projects.
